Malaysia bans possession of Mohammed cartoons

Malaysia has banned the circulation and possession of the Danish Mohammed cartoons that have been causing an uproar over recent weeks. It is now an offense to publish, import, produce, manufacture, circulate, distribute or possess caricatures that may "jeopardise public harmony and safety, which may cause chaos, or endanger public peace or national interest".

I really can't help but think how utterly @!$%#ed up this is. Over some stupid cartoons depicting Mohammed, even though Muslims have been doing it for centuries. Okay, fair enough the one with the bomb in his turban could be viewed as offensive if you take it at face value, but still, if you are offended over a cartoon that suggests that fundamentalist Muslims use Mohammed's name to cause violence and destruction or that Islam is a bomb waiting to go off and then you react with violent protests and setting embassies on fire... Well, you're not really helping your cause.
